Accomplishments
- The Responsible Parenthood and Family Planning Program (RPFP) – This activity of the FGSCBI is in partnership with the POPCOM-Caraga deals with issues related to sexual and reproductive health, including fertility and family planning concerns. It mainly aims to help couples to understand their anticipated timing, spacing, and number of children in accord with their socioeconomic, emotional, and psychological capacity. The organization has reached out the total of 1,564 couples in Butuan City, 654 in Nasipit, Agusan del Norte, 346 in Sibagat, Agusan del Sur, 578 in Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur and 566 in Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur.
- The Adolescent Health Development Program (AHDP) – The Adolescent Health and Development Program of the POPCOM-Caraga that focuses on improving the health of young people, ages 10-19, and providing educational and skill building workshops and programs that help them navigate safely through adolescence and into adulthood. The FGSCBI has reached out the total of 8,345 adolescents and significant adults in Butuan City, 1,357 in Kitcharao, Agusan del Norte, 856 in Nasipit, Agusan del Norte, 4,567 in Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur, 3,102 in Sibagat, Agusan del Sur, and 1,222 in Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur.
- The Subject Matter Experts on Anti- Illegal Drugs Education and Prevention– Drug education enables children, youth and adults to develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to appreciate the benefits of living healthily (which may or may not include the use of psychoactive substances), promote responsibility towards the use of drugs and relate these to their own actions and those of others. As of to date, there are 5 qualified lecturers from the FGSCBI trained by the PDEA as Subject Matter Experts on Anti-Illegal Drugs Campaign.
- The Impact Assessment of Community-Based Forest Management (CBFM-CARP) – This Ecosystem Research and Development Bureau Project of the DENR-Caraga aims to predict social environmental impacts at an early stage in project planning and design, find ways and means to reduce adverse impacts, shape projects to suit the local environment and present the predictions and options to decision-makers. Moreover, this project evaluation determines the conditions from based year versus after 5 years of project implementation that justify whether the project is beneficial to the People’s Organization. In addition, FGSCBI has reached out the total of 158 respondents in the eight (8) People’s Organization in Caraga Region such as; CBFMA- Bonbon, Butuan City, BHSMA- Taganaan, Surigao del Norte, TAMPO,Inc.– Bayugan City, IBAFA- Las Nieves, Agusan del Norte, TATADFI- Mainit, Surigao del Norte, RAM, Inc.- Tubay, Agusan del Norte, OPLAS- Siargao, ABISMAMCI- Bayugan City.
- FDS/YDS (Family/Youth Development Sessions) –The FGSCBI will act as Resource Person during FDS/YDS utilizing appropriate modalities in the City of Butuan, and Buenavista as Resource Person on Family Health and Development Sessions (FDS) that includes the topics on adolescent health, environment, drugs, and human rights, etc.
- Compliance Verification System (CVS) – This project of DSWD-Caraga allows FGSCBI to the conduct Monitoring & Evaluation on system check on education and health facilities with low compliances in the City of Butuan, Buenavista, and San Francisco.
- Private Sector Representative – FGSCBI was selected as Regional Development Council- Private Sector Representative by the National Economic Development Authority (NEDA), representing fisheries sector.
- Member of the City Development Council – FGSCBI was recognized and selected as member of the City Development Council in Butuan.
